Eucalyptus Grove Outdoor Newborn Session | Carlsbad Newborn Photographer

"You are made of stardust and wishes and magical things"

Guess what? This was the very first outdoor newborn session I have ever done. Admittedly, I was nervous. Even with the warm temperatures we've been experiencing here in San Diego, I wasn't sure how a newborn would do outside in the evening. Sometimes you have to take chances and I am so glad we did!

We settled on Hosp Grove in Carlsbad for our shoot. I love the whimsical look of eucalyptus branches hanging down. We definitely utilized these branches, and also the fallen trees. Big sister loved balancing on the tree trunks and did a good job holding her brother. They already have the sweetest bond.

After a small break to feed baby boy, we continued with some more family shots. I really love shooting from above. It is a unique perspective and gives a sense of closeness among the subjects. I think "posing" families this way makes them more comfortable and they kinda forget I'm there, which results in some sweet, effortless images.
